|---|---|
Why Alumni Attitudes Matter to Everyone on CampusIn our work presenting alumni attitudinal research and in conversations with advancement professionals around the country, we find overwhelming agreement about the importance of alumni feedback for the future success of the institution. What is surprising, however, is the amount of interest and agreement that is received from other areas/departments across campus once this information is made available to them. This seems to be especially true for the President’s office, student groups and department leaders. AAS Engagement Web Series - Summary of First Two WebinarsWe are very pleased to report that the first two installments of the 2009 AAS Engagement Web Series have been a success. In putting together the presentations and setting up the webinars online, we were unsure about how they would be received by the participants and how well the technology would work. We knew that we wanted the webinars to be a resource to those in the advancement of higher education by showing how real data about alumni attitudes and engagement trends could be useful in various actionable ways. Much of it is good advice; some of it represents solid wisdom to be applied for future growth. Unquestionably, current prevailing thought is breaking down the “bigger is better” paradigm and replacing it with a “smarter is better” orientation. The common thread: change. One way or another, change is definitely in your future. |
