The survey questionnaire is the result of years of extensive research and testing.  In 2001, the Performance Enhancement Group collaborated with 13 founding institutions to develop the original AAS survey.  Over the years, we have tested, evaluated, verified, and evolved this instrument with the input of past and current study participants and industry experts.  Overall, the original instrument has held up remarkably well.  We guarantee that each time you participate in the Study your data from previous years remain a valid and valuable basis for comparison.

Every year we conduct intensive focus groups with past participants (over 90 institutions so far), advancement professionals, alumni, and alumni association executives. Through these sessions we develop a thorough understanding of which issues matter most to alumni, phrase questions to get the highest response, and determine how to analyze results most effectively.
